The province is subdivided into 5 districts; Chhlong, Kratie, Prek Prasab, Sambor & Snoul. - Area : 11,094sq km. Density : 24/km2 Kratie is situated along the east Mekong riverbank. It is around 340km form Phnom Penh on the National Road 7 and it is one of the four provinces in northeastern Cambodia.Krotie, pronounced as Kracheh, is one of four provinces in the northeastern extreme of Cambodia, onr of the best places to visit for observing the rare Mekong River Dolphins.
The 100-pilllar pagoda, known as Wat Sosor Muoy Roy, is at Sambo District, a one hour drive from the town center of Krotie off the road to Stungtreng province. This side has great historical relevance for being the site one of the largest pagoda in Cambodia, the temple with 100 Columns, once stood.
